I’ve know Moranda since she was 6 years old. I remember her as a little girl in front of their blue house in Michigan. She had super long hair. Fast-forward to a few years ago, Moranda was babysitting for us on a regular basis. That was weird enough, seeing her grow from a tiny child to her being a responsible teenager and taking care of my kids. But taking her senior portraits this summer really threw me for a loop.
She’s all grown up. She’s just as smart and fun as she always had been. But there was this edge of confidence. Of having things figured out somewhat. We had a conversation about her desires and ambitions for the future. I’m honored to know her. To see how well her parents did in holding out goals and ideas and training her.
Moranda – Moe, Randi, we’ve called you a few nicknames over the years! – stay strong and focused. Enjoy your youth and may all your plans for the future come true. I love you.
Moe had three outfits picked out for portraits. They all sum up who she is perfectly. Here are my favorites…
I love this next one. We were walking through the woods hoping the sun would break through and when it did I started jumping up and down with excitement. I asked Moe to face the light and find it with her face. She did. And it was perfect.
Outfit number two is the Moe I knew from babysitting days. Moe who loves reading, comic books, and superheros. The Moe who could be counted on to entertain the boys for hours with stories of superheros and art projects.
Outfit three, just in time for sunset and Moranda broke out her trumpet for some photos. Yay.
