internet fasting

Granted the internet isn’t food – does that mean “fasting” is the wrong verb? Regardless – here it is. Week one of my twice yearly week long internet abstention program. It’s been since last summer that I’ve gone a period of time without the internet by my side. And that was just for a weekend. But it felt so good. To refocus on family and myself without the constant distractions of my bubble of internet friends and happenings. So while it’s something I’ve done periodically I think putting it on my 101 in 1001 list makes it official and scheduled. And things that I schedule I accomplish better than things I just say I’m gonna do.

The kids are off school this week, we’ve got fun things planned and scheduled, and I’ve got to catch up on editing personal photos – like from my mom’s visit in October. So starting tomorrow, Sunday the 18th and running through Saturday the 24th I may be on my computer but I won’t be checking e-mail, facebook, twitter, or pinterest. I won’t be blogging either.  (I know I also listed blogging once a week for a whole year on my 101 list. I’m counting this blog post as a post for the week I’m off-line. Plus I’ll have a few posts the week I get back, so it evens out.)

I hope your week is wonderful. I’ll see ya soon.

I’ll leave ya with an instagram taken at Lake Union a couple weeks ago …
