Meet Logan and Ethan.
These brothers are adorable.
Side note. It had been storming a lot this week. Everything was soaked. Also, this was one of those hot and humid days in Michigan this summer where the heat index was hovering around 110 degrees. It was foggy this morning. (The fog in Chicago actually shut down several beaches because the lifeguards couldn’t see the water) And at 9:15 it was already over 90 degrees, we were sweaty just standing there talking. They boys were fantastic though, they didn’t complain once.
Beth knew she wanted their photos taken somewhere that wasn’t the city. Somewhere that reflected her boys’ love for the country.
Meeting at this farm was the perfect location. The owner graciously hauled hay bales around, moved barrels and cones out of the arena, and moved horses into the arena. Since we were there at breakfast, the horses were mostly content to stand in the arena behind us.
My favorite portrait of Ethan…
… and my favorite of Logan…
Remember at the beginning of the post when I said the horses were content in the arena? …. Then about 5 seconds after the first photo in this post I got this one…
The horses realized the hay bales were set just close enough that if they stretched over the fence they could help themselves.
Of course, we had to feed them after that.
Beth – it was a pleasure to spend time with you on this sticky hot morning and photograph the boys. You and Kenny have done a great job with them. They are so polite and well behaved. I can’t wait to see you guys again soon.
Denise – Thank you SO much for use of your farm.
