I’ve known this family for years. I was trying to think back to how we first met and I don’t remember. We just kinda grew up around the same people even though we didn’t hang out till we were adults, and even then we didn’t hang out much, we always enjoyed our time with them. Stacie has been a supporter/cheerleader for me since I started on the journey of “professional photographer”. I’m thrilled that we were able to finally get together and capture their little family before our move to the Pacific Northwest.
I told Stacie that there were several photos that I loved enough to print huge and hang on my wall. This is one of them. (If I had a studio space I’d have already ordered it, canvas, huge – like 24×36)
this is another that should be canvas-ized… (you know, printed to canvas, it’s totally a word)
Meet Maddux. He’s 4. He has the best disposition of any 4 year old I’ve ever met. He was mellow and agreeable and happy the whole time. His parents say he’s like that most of the time. Just an all around great kid. He spent a lot of time telling jokes to keep daddy smiling. I think my favorite was something like “why did the chicken cross the dog…to get to the other chicken”
One of Josiah and Maddux – Maddux grabbed onto the branch and didn’t want to let go.
Another of Stacie and Maddux…
Something great to see when photographing any family is the connection between mom and dad. Life gets so crazy and when you add children to the mix it’s even harder to make sure you’re taking the time to connect and stay in love, to fall in love all over again each and every day. This connection is something Stacie and Josiah still have. Keep it always you two – it’s such a precious blessing.
This photo reminds me of the line from the movie Where The Wild Things Are – ‘and we’ll all sleep in a big pile.’
Thank you guys. This was such a wonderful day. Here are a few more favorites.
