My sister got married April 23, 2011. She had myself and our other sister Crystal be her bridesmaids. Which was fantastic. It also meant I wasn’t going to be taking photos during the ceremony. (obviously right? yet you’d be surprised how many ppl assumed I was doing both… granted, I did consider it for a nanosecond, then realized it would not work logistically… but anywho) All of these photos in this post (except for a few of the dancing ones at the end) were taken by my lovely second photographer Desirae.
Lisa and Nathan also hired a photographer (who happens to be our cousin) to work as a shooter also. I can’t express how fantastic it is to have two photographers on your wedding day. Then nothing gets missed. To see his photos from the day click here.
The getting ready: We all converged on a little hotel room at the Hyatt to get hair and makeup done and get dressed. To Carol (hair stylist) and Kim (make-up artist) – Thank you so much for your hard work, vision, and talent. We all looked flawless.
Shortly after we got to the ceremony/reception hall the flowers arrived. Here I am pinning on my dad’s and youngest son’s boutonniere.
The ceremony. (It was great to see these photos as being in the wedding you tend to miss facial expressions of the bride and groom. Something I hadn’t considered before this.)
My boys walked together in the wedding as joint ring bearers. Then Cody got to hand them their rings. He took this responsibility very seriously.
Then some bridal party photos…
Dancing … first Lisa and Nathan… they danced to Adele’s cover of “Make You Feel My Love”
… next Lisa danced with dad to “In My Life” by the Beatles
… then Nathan and his mom danced to Sarah McLachlan’s version of “Blackbird”
and finally… time for a few random dancing photos!
There you have it. A highlight of my sister’s wedding through Desi’s eyes. It went by so fast and I was honored to be part of it.
Lisa and Nathan – may you have an eternity of happiness. May your arguments be few and easily forgotten. May you linger in the happy moments.
I love you
