Four Generations

Do you remember my family session with Justin, Nikki, and their kids at the beach this summer? It was one of my favorite family sessions to date. As we were ending the session Justin asked me if I’ve done large groups of people and would I be interested in photographing 30 members of his family, four generations, this fall. I swallowed back some panic and said ‘sure, count me in’.

As we got the session planned and details worked out I was panicking a little less. Prior to this the largest group session I had done was 8 people. So I think a bit of nerves were expected. I had my 2nd photographer Desirae along for moral support and organizational support. The day arrived and we had 30 people in a beautiful loft building. We got them organized into family groups and all lined up pretty. I can tell you now – had this group been difficult to work with I would have died. They all followed direction so well and were ready to stand/sit where ever. And they were all ready with a smile. It made my job a lot easier.

Then we started to break down the families a bit more. “GG” and her kids first.

My favorite of the day – GG and the great-grandkids

Thank you guys so much for your trust and faith in me. Producing these photos went so smoothly because you all had your game plan in place and were ready to get it done. It was a joy getting to know some of you better. I appreciate the experience and have some ideas for the next family reunion photo! Here are some more of my favorites.
