I’ve been doing a Project 365, taking one picture every day. So far so good. (click here to see January’s pictures and here to see February’s pictures) For the month of March I decided all of my daily photos need to be taken outside. Celebrate spring coming. Document the daily changes. Or at least, try to see things a little different, slow down and notice the details in things I’d normally overlook.
This past Saturday, the 6th, I had to drop some things off at my mom’s house. I had brought my camera and walked outside to see what I could see. I spotted this little tree stump that’s covered in lichen. I don’t know how long the stump has been part of the scenery here. I don’t remember it not being there, and I don’t remember it arriving. But what struck me was how simple and beautiful it was. A little reminder that amazing natural art work is around us. All we have to do is slow down a little and look for it.
