Summer – Where did it go?!

This has been a crazy busy summer for us. I can not believe that the boys will be starting school in less than a month.

Cody’s favorite part of the summer has been “playing video games, going to the beach, and going to the zoo”. Hmmm. Playing video games was cooler to him than feeding the Giraffes at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, MI. Sounds like a 6 year old boy! (Though I will be the first to admit, Wii Resort is pretty awesome)

The Binder Park Zoo – go to this zoo, pay the crazy prices for the giraffe crackers ($1 a piece or 6 for $5), experience the amazing wonderment of feeding a giraffe at his head level, touching their soft heads, feeling the texture of their tounges as they stretch forward to take a cracker out of your hand. It is well worth the money you’ll spend. On a funny side note, Madagascar 2 (or “Move it move it” as Gavin calls it) has been our favorite movie of the summer – so at the zoo, when Gavin looked out over the Wild Africa enclosure and saw zebras and giraffes he shouted with sheer joy – “Move it Move it! I see the Move It”   :)

Here are some of my favorite moments from the past 3 months.  (photo credit to Mandy B. for the pictures of me and the boys feeding the giraffes)
